Breon suffers from a condition namely: Ankylosing Spondylitis which stiffens her spine, knee and hip joints and which requires her to take one injection EVERY week in order for her to be able to walk properly. She earnestly requires your assistance as she is unable to fund her medication which costs millions of JMD. Her condition began affecting her in 2014 where she was bedridden for weeks unable to move freely on her own. After doing several tests, she was then diagnosed in 2019 with the condition by the University Hospital of the West Indies where she has been visiting frequently for clinics and physiotherapy. She has since been in constant pain with this condition and can only move freely enough when medicated. Ankylosing spondylitis is an inflammatory disease that, over time, can cause some of the bones in the spine (vertebrae) to fuse. This fusing makes the spine less flexible and can result in a hunched posture. If ribs are affected, it can be difficult to breathe deeply. Ankylosing spondylitis has no known specific cause, though genetic factors seem to be involved. “Ankylosis” means fused bones or other hard tissue. “Spondylitis” means inflammation in your spinal bones, or vertebrae. Severe cases can leave your spine hunched. Breon has been having symptoms of ankylosing spondylitis including pain and stiffness in the lower back and hips, especially in the morning and after periods of inactivity. Neck pain and fatigue also are also very prevalent in her daily routines. Over time, her symptoms might worsen and she might be unable to walk or move about after the age of 25. She is currently 24 years of age is desperately seeking your assistance in helping to fund her medications for this rare condition so her future can be a bright one.
