Hi everyone, My name is Julecia Jarrett, I’m a 33-year-old single mother, and I’m reaching out during the most difficult moment of our lives. Recently, a devastating house fire destroyed our home. In a matter of minutes, my 10-year-old son and I lost everything we owned. While I am beyond grateful that we both made it out safely, we were left with nothing but the clothes on our backs. Starting over from scratch as a single mom is overwhelming, but the hardest part has been watching the toll this is taking on my son. Like most 10-year-olds, his phone and laptop were how he stayed connected to his schoolwork, played games, and talked to his friends. Losing them along with his home, his room, and his toys has been devastating for him, and seeing him slowly fall into sadness breaks my heart. Right now, I simply don't have the means to replace what he lost, let alone cover the overwhelming costs of rebuilding our lives. We are starting completely from the ground up. The funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward: Temporary housing and basic living essentials (clothing, food, toiletries, etc) Rebuilding and securing a safe, permanent home for my family. Replacing essential technology so my son can catch up with school, reconnect with his friends, and regain a sense of normalcy.
