I hope this message finds you well. Today, I find myself in a situation I never thought possible, reaching out for help when I thought I had my life all figured out. Life has a way of throwing unexpected challenges our way, and I have been hit with a series of hardships that have left me struggling to keep my head above water.

Until the end of last year, everything seemed to be going according to plan. I was working my 9-5 job, managing partner plans, and even operating a pay day loan business on the side. However, that’s when it all unraveled. I was faced with the terrifying prospect of losing my home, and in a desperate attempt to keep it, I borrowed multiple loans to accumulate the amount required to satisfy the bank’s demands. Then, the unthinkable happened – I lost my job.

To make matters even more complicated, some of the people I had partnered with decided to leave Jamaica and embark on a risky journey through the Mexico border to seek a new life in America. This abrupt departure left me shouldering the burden of over 800,000 JMD in debts because everyone wanted their money back.

I have been tirelessly searching for a new job, sending out countless applications, attending interviews, but so far, I haven’t been able to secure stable employment. The loan place I owe has only exacerbated my worries, resorting to public shaming by posting my name on social media, claiming that I’m wanted. I’ve attempted to explain my dire situation to them, but they seem uninterested in my struggle.

The weight of these financial and emotional burdens has taken a toll on me. I haven’t been sleeping or eating properly, and to make matters worse, my two precious daughters, who I have been raising on my own, are about to start school in just a week. I don’t even have the means to provide them with basic school supplies.

I’ve reached a point where I have no choice but to ask for help. It’s a humbling experience, and I wouldn’t be doing this if I didn’t believe it was the only way to secure a future for my daughters. I want to give them a chance at a better life, a life where they can pursue their dreams and reach their full potential.
