Greetings,

My name is Elizabeth Goffe & I am the founder of a community centre called TrueSelf Centre, located in Kingston, Jamaica. Our centre has been a community hub primarily focused on wellness offerings for a little more than a decade.

When Hurricane Melissa hit Jamaica, many of our TrueSelf community members islandwide were impacted significantly. We decided to immediately start offering as much assistance as possible, collecting hurricane relief donations (such as food, water, clothes, mattresses, diapers, toiletries, hygiene products, first aid kid items, household items, solar-powered items, etc) and organizing for them to transported & delivered into communities that needed them.

We have also partnered with other organizations, communities, families, shelters & schools in different parishes (St. Elizabeth, Trelawny, Westmoreland, St. James & Hanover) to coordinate relief trips where volunteers come together to offer assistance with hands-on tasks such as care package delivery, debris-clearing, census-taking, community workshops, children’s activities, wellness sessions, and special holiday gatherings.

As we approach the end of the year, we know we would like to continue with our efforts to support communities in 2026. As such, we invite you to consider making a monetary donation so that we have enough funds and resources to continue purchasing hurricane relief items, covering transportation costs, and facilitating supportive sessions and events for as many people as we can.
