For over 50 years, the Bible Way Pentecostal Church has been a cornerstone of hope, worship, and community support for the people of Somerton, located in the Parish of St. James, Jamaica. However, the church building, which has served as a safe haven and beacon of faith, is now in urgent need of restoration.

The Need for Action

The Bible Way Church stands on a hilltop in Somerton, a rural area in the hills of Northern St. James. Over the years, time and the elements have taken their toll on this historic structure. While initial work has begun thanks to a generous $10,000 donation in 2017 that funded:

  • The construction of a road to the church.
  • A ramp for people with physical challenges.
  • Sanctuary renovations including 12 ceiling fans and lights.

There is still so much left to do. The building requires extensive internal and external renovations to make it safe, functional, and a welcoming space for future generations.

Our Goal: $300,000

We need your help to raise $300,000 to complete this critical project. Your contributions will go toward:

  • Structural Repairs: Ensuring the building is safe and sound.
  • Roof Replacement: Addressing leaks and weather damage.
  • Electrical and Plumbing Upgrades: Bringing the church up to modern standards.
  • Community Hall Renovations: Creating a space for programs that serve Somerton and nearby communities.
  • Furnishings and Accessibility Improvements: Ensuring everyone, regardless of ability, can access and use the space.

Why It Matters

The Bible Way Pentecostal Church is more than just a buildingโ€”itโ€™s a lifeline for the community. For decades, it has provided:

  • Spiritual guidance and a place of worship.
  • Community programs to support the underserved.
  • A gathering space for education, fellowship, and charity work.

Without this vital restoration, the church risks becoming unusable, leaving a void in the lives of the people who rely on it.
