My name is Esha-Nay Higgins, and I am creating this campaign for my beloved family residing in the small, tight-knit mountain community of Belfont, Catadupa, St. James. They were directly in the destructive path of Hurricane Melissa, and their lives have been shattered.

The Images show the terrifying scale of the damage to their homes, but the real crisis is the impact on the hearts and health of my loved ones—my grandmother, cousins, aunts, and uncles—who lost everything.

My family has been left heartbroken and vulnerable. My grandmother is a stroke survivor and is currently battling Polycythemia along with other complex health issues is struggling to recover, and the current unstable living conditions are a serious threat to her well-being.

While my young cousins were incredibly brave as the hurricane raged, the aftermath has been deeply traumatic. The sound of rain, once a peaceful background noise, now triggers panic; they cry every time it starts, associating the simple sound with the terror and loss they endured. This emotional impact is heartbreaking to witness. Their beloved rescued cats and dogs are also distressed and need urgent care.

Every dollar donated will go directly to the rebuilding efforts and essential supplies for my family in Belfont. Our immediate goal is focused on survival and stability:

| Emergency Home Restoration | Building Materials: Replacing the completely torn-off roof (as seen in the photo) and securing walls to create a dry, safe, and habitable space.

Urgent medical supplies and prescriptions for my ill grandmother, and providing essential supplies (clothing, toiletries, blankets) for the children and adults.

| Food & Pet Supplies | Providing sustained food and clean water for the family, as well as necessary food and care for our rescued cats and dogs.

| Farm Restoration | Providing seedlings, basic tools, and materials to help restore the small family farms they depend on for livelihood and food security.

We need your help to lift our family out of this nightmare. Your support will not just replace a roof; it will help to restore my grandmother’s health, wipe away the tears of my cousins, and rebuild the spirit of a community.

Please donate today and share our story widely. From the bottom of our hearts,we thank you for bringing light back into our darkest hour.
