Re: Requesting Contribution towards Graduating Class’ Project: Resurfacing the Pavement of the University’s Main Entrance.   Please accept greetings on behalf of the International University of the Caribbean. We give God thanks for life and for His provision and His mercies towards us.   Kindly contribute towards this well needed and worthy cause of resurfacing the main entrance at the central campus of the International University of the Caribbean (IUC) that is located at 47 Old Hope Road. It serves the nation through three (3) campuses located at Mandeville, Sav-la-mar and Montego Bay.   The International University of the Caribbean was founded by the United Church in Jamaica and the Cayman Islands in 2005. It has been providing tertiary Education and Guidance to our nation’s ambitious scholars and equipping them as Educators, Guidance Counselors and Psychologists among many other professions.  In 2021 IUC responded to the increasing crime and violence that is plaguing the nation by establishing the Peace Institute and Extended Learning Center.  The IUC Peace Institute was founded for the study of peace building and social cohesion within Jamaican society. The focus of the institution reflects the motto of the university: “Seek Peace, Pursue Excellence”. The motto envisages the building of a Jamaican society and world that is non-violent, sustainable and peaceful.  This research and training institution seeks to equip students, staff and community members in peace making skills through peaceful conflict resolution that is rooted in respect for human rights standards and responsibilities. The Institute engages in research and advocacy activities to build strong and peaceful communities and provide a strategic framework for researchers, activists, peacemakers, and peace builders to work together for the wholesome transformation of the Jamaican society that eschews violence and embraces just peace.
