Hi I am Christopher Perkins and both my hands are disabled due to a machete attack in 2019. I cry night and day when I look at my life and see that I cannot take care of my family because my fingers are stiff and cannot bend.
I am the father of 4 children and it is becoming really frustrating and stressful for me because I am unable to provide for them as I used to and I feel helpless. Prior to the incident, I used to work for four years as a truck sideman with the National Solid Waste Management Authority.
I am desperately seeking help to finance two tendon grafts, the price for ONE of which is $557,000 JMD. A doctor at the Kingston Public Hospital told me that the surgery would significantly improve the use of my hands.
Despite my situation, I am willing to work and is seeking help to also get a weed whacker so that my cousin and I can go out and do some gardening and landscaping work in the new year. I know that I will not be able to do much but if it is even to put the broom or rake under my arms, I will just have to try.
I am just hoping and praying that persons will help me to purchase the tendon grafts because that will really lift the heavy burden off me and help me and my children (ages 6, 8, 10, 11), to have a merry Christmas and a prosperous new year!
Thanks in advance.
