Short Story
Our dear friend and neighbor needs some community support to get back on his feet!
Jayhar called St. Thomas his home for the last 28 years. In these 28 years he has been through multiple devastating hurricanes and a pandemic, ups/downs and everything in between. If you live in St. Thomas you may know J.R from Caribbean Saloon, where he managed our well known and loved local bar and food spot. As we know, nothing last forever including Saloon which recently closed its doors for good. The owners of the house Jayhar has called home also decided to sell in the same time period leaving him a month to find a new job and home. In this time he was hospitalized where he received the news that his insurance had been cut. Jayhar found a job pretty quick but with multiple medical bills pilling (breathing medication is not cheap) and the threat of homlessness, its just not enough. We’re hoping his new regime of breathing meds works and keeps our dear friend out of the hospital! I’ve known J.R 6+ years and have known him to be the most solid friend you could ask for. A true source of love, laughter, and support. I’m hoping we as a community can send some of that love and support back his way. Personally his financial generosity and kindness has saved my life. However, I as one person cannot handle this tall pile of bills. I humbly ask for anyone who can spare even $5 to please help J.R get back on his feet and stable in his health.
Thank you for your time,
Irish Adam
