Short Story

My Family’s Story
I am a mother of three children, and right now my family is going through an extremely difficult season. My youngest son recently turned one and was born with VACTERL association, a complex congenital condition that has required ongoing medical care, specialist appointments, and surgeries.
He has another surgery coming up in less than a month, and as his mother, I am doing everything I can to make sure he receives the care he needs. The costs of transportation, medical needs, food, and other necessities have become very difficult for me to manage, especially while caring for three children.
On top of caring for my son, I am also dealing with complications from my own C-section. I developed scar endometriosis at the C-section site, which causes significant pain and will require surgery to remove it. Trying to care for my children while also dealing with my own health problems has been physically, emotionally, and financially overwhelming.
I am not asking for help because I want an easy life. I am asking because I am doing my best to keep my family together and make sure my children have what they need. I would be deeply grateful for any assistance, whether it is financial support, help with food and household necessities, transportation, or assistance with my son’s upcoming medical care.
Any help, no matter how small, would make a meaningful difference to my family. Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for considering helping us during this difficult time.
