Description

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind-Hearted Strangers,
We are reaching out with heavy hearts and hopeful spirits to ask for your support for our beloved daughter, Jessica. On the afternoon of June 28, while enjoying her gap year traveling through Southeast Asia with friends, Jessica was involved in a horrific moped accident in Phuket, Thailand. She collided with a bus and was rushed to Bangkok Hospital Phuket. Jessica is currently in ICU, in an induced coma to allow her body to rest after brain surgery to treat a serious bleed. She has also sustained broken ribs and a broken leg.
Jessica is a kind-hearted, thoughtful 21-year-old science student at Northumbria University, living her dreams with courage and kindness. As her parents, this unimaginable situation has shattered our lives. To complicate matters further, her travel insurance with Zurich has been voided due to technicalities regarding her motorcycle passenger status and traces of alcohol found in her system. We have been informed by the British Embassy that we are responsible for all medical treatment and expenses for bringing Jessica home, and her passport is currently held by the authorities until these bills are settled.
My husband Paul and I flew here on Monday evening, and we intend to stay until Jessica can safely return to the UK. We have never asked for help before, but in this difficult and uncertain time, we humbly ask for your support. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly towards her medical care, hospital costs, and safe repatriation to the UK. Your kindness will give our daughter the fighting chance she deserves.
We promise to keep everyone updated on Jessica’s progress and situation. From the depths of our hearts, thank you for standing with us.
With gratitude,
Sarah & Paul
