I am currently a part-time fourth-year student at the Sam Sharpe Teachers’ College in Montego Bay, Jamaica, pursuing my Bachelor’s degree in Education. My journey has been filled with challenges that have tested my strength in ways I never imagined.

After years of being told that I would never be able to have children, I was blessed with my miracle baby. While this was one of the greatest joys of my life, that same year my mother suddenly became ill. Shortly after, I lost my only parent and main source of support — my mother. As an only child, I was left to manage overwhelming responsibilities on my own, including caring for my sick mother before her passing, raising a newborn, attending school, and dealing with mounting debt.

Despite these hardships, I remained determined to complete my education and build a better future for my son and myself. Just as things were beginning to improve, disaster struck again. Hurricane Melissa destroyed our home, leaving my three-year-old son and me with nothing — from clothing to furniture and other essential belongings.

Today, I am humbly seeking the support of friends, family, and kind-hearted well-wishers to help me complete my Bachelor’s degree. Assistance with my tuition would not only help me stay in school, but would also allow me to provide the basic necessities my son and I urgently need as we rebuild our lives.
