The Westmoreland Gymnastics Academy, similarly to most businesses, households  schools and other infrastructures in westmoreland the gymnastics academy was not spared when Hurricane Melissa, the catastrophic Hurricane pounced upon Jamaica on Tuesday October 28, 2025. Taking in her devastation all normalcy that the citizens of westmoreland knew.

The gymnasium saw damages to its structure and equipment, this has caused a setback for the pupils as training has had to be halted pending repairs and recovery. The academy over the years have produced national gymnasts at all levels to include competitors of the recent 2025 Carifta Gymnastics Championships, and Jamaica Classics.

We ask for your assistance to support our recovery as we strive to reinstate our institution, in order to continue producing world class athletes.

Westmoreland Gymnastics Academy is a home away from home for many gymnasts. This noble institution not only trains but also instills discipline, builds character and motivates young gymnasts It isn’t just a gymnasium, it’s a place where young people feels safe and well cared for.

For many years, we’ve nurtured young people in westmoreland and helped them to build confidence and resilience through gymnastics. Hurricane Melissa struck and severely damaged our safe space. floors got flooded, equipments got destroyed and the front of the gym got torn off.

Now, we need your help to rebuild as many children depends on us.
