The multi-award winning First Dance Studios is Western Jamaica’s leading performing arts studio, located in Montego Bay.
They have successfully changed the landscape and contributed to the paradigm shift for the performing arts in Western Jamaica over the past nine years. The overall value from their programs is nothing short of life-changing and a consistent underlying thread from their customers/parents is “with First Dance I get help to nurture a child that is really confident, happy, healthy and whole.”
Their approach offers a unique experience, which not only creates a multidimensional child who is creative and innovative, but research has proven that this approach is the answer to closing the gap that has left many children behind both cognitively and socially.
It has always been their goal to offer this opportunity to even more children and continue their mission to change lives through the arts. They continue to seek out amazing partnerships that will continue to increase the impact they have on our communities and countries’ socio-cultural environment.
MAIN ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE ORGANIZATION:
1. Winning over 15 medals for Jamaica at the World Championships of Performing Arts held in Hollywood in the categories of Dance, Music and Drama.
2. Jamaica Gleaners awards for contribution to the arts in Western Jamaica.
3. Being featured on a Canadian based travel series for their contributions to dance in Western Jamaica.
4. 9 successful years of operation and currently serving over 200 students weekly
5. Winning numerous medal, trophies and being awarded the most outstanding group in dance at the JCDC local Dance competition for a number of years.
6. Being named Western Jamaica’s best summer program for over 9 years.
7. Hosting World class theatre production at Iberostar, attracting over 700 patrons each year.
8. Hosting international instructors annually from Germany, UK, Canada & USA.
As they continue to mold the lives of our future artistic geniuses, they remain intentional in providing the most premium infrastructure, top tier instructors, au fait in the various skill areas, the best channel of information exchange and, all in all, the best overall developmental experience for each student they come in contact with.
The studio looks forward to the 2025 WCOPA experience, as they continue to enrich the lives of the children, whom they serve.

For centuries, there has been an exclusive “Olympics” for athletes. This discriminatory practice is being corrected for performing artists by the creation of the “World Championships of Performing Arts” (WCOPA), cited as the one and only “official Talent Olympics” for aspiring performers and entertainers. After 25 years of incredible growth, it is the only international talent and modeling competition of its kind annually held in or around “Hollywood,” entertainment capital of the world! Similar to the Olympics, only invited and qualified competitors (called WORLDSTARS) represent their countries and compete each year in a fierce competition for “the gold”! International WORLDSTARS are those achieving talent and models from around the world that have been exclusively screened, qualified and invited to represent their countries at the one-and-only, ultimate world championships for aspiring performers and entertainers:
*JUNIOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS OF PERFORMING ARTS (JWCOPA) for achieving performers and entertainers ages 5 to 15.
*WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS OF PERFORMING ARTS (WCOPA) for aspiring performers and entertainers ages 16 and over.
Like the Olympics, the finest aspiring talent and modeling competitors from countries are qualified and invited. Every contestant attending the World Championships of Performing Arts system is screened, qualified and selected under specific guidelines established by WCOPA, and executed by Scouts and licensed National Directors from the invited countries. Delegations of outstanding competitors from approximately seventy (70) countries will be represented at both the Junior World Championships and the World Championships. The next event will take place July 15-25, 2025, at the Westin Hotel and Convention Centre, Long Beach, California.
The mission of WCOPA is to create the ultimate, International Olympic-style competition for performing artists with an emphasis on accurate, professional “Hollywood” entertainment industry education and experiences.
WHAT ORGANIZATION BACKS THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS?
WORLDSTARS INTERNATIONAL Inc. organizes and manages The World Championships of Performing
Arts (WCOPA), in concert with the International Selection Committee (ISC), which provides the foundation for this annual talent competition.

Your contribution will help get them to Los Angeles, to participate in a once in a lifetime event that will connect them with industry scouts, managers, and producers, who can help develop their talent to the next level.
