Short Story

A team of young people from the International Bible Way Church – Spanish Town 18 Duncan’s Pen Road, Spanish Town Jamaica, have embarked on an education initiative termed “Community Education Assistance Program” (CEAP) hosted in the church and on its premises since February 2021.  This allowed children and adults access to internet and devices necessary for online school/work. The need for monitoring of children ages 3 and upward with the provision of meals became a demand, and so volunteers were drafted to assist.

The initiative has unearthed the need for a facility to accommodate early childhood education and other educational developments both children and adults. The church had purchased a property to erect a new temple for worship in 2020, on which lies an unfinished building. Our aim is to renovate a part of this building to host the CEAP initiative. The IBW Church – Spanish Town has not been able to advance further actions since purchase two (2) years ago,  as the need to assist church members and families in our community with food and financial assistance became a priority. Funds have been depleted. We therefore seek your assistance to erect a new church building and renovate the unfinished building to facilitate CEAP. We’ll be hosting a Mission Walk on August 20, 2022 to culminate our fundraising initiative. We welcome your support, donation and contributions. Thank you.

When the pandemic struck in 2020, many schools were closed and reverted to online classes. Work from home orders were also enforced. Many persons within Duncan’s Pen Road and adjoining communities were at a disadvantage because they had no access to internet or devices to adjust and adapt to the changes. A team of young people from the International Bible Way Church – Spanish Town 18 Duncan’s Pen Road, Spanish Town Jamaica, have embarked on an education initiative termed “Community Education Assistance Program” (CEAP) hosted in the church and on the premises since February 2021.  This allowed children and adults access to internet and devices necessary for online school/work. The need for monitoring of children ages 3 and upward, provision of meals became a demand, and so volunteers were drafted to assist. The initiative has identified the need to provide :

  • Early childhood education
  • Literacy Development for children and adults
  • Homework assistance

Therefore a facility is needed to accommodate these educational development. The church had purchased a property to erect a new temple for worship in 2020. On this property remains an unfinished building. Our aim is to renovate a part of this building to host the CEAP initiative. For the program to be officially registered, we need to have a certified facility with adequate fixtures. The impact of the pandemic saw the IBW Church – Spanish Town not being able to advance further actions since purchase two (2) years ago,  as the need to assist church members and families in our community with food and financial assistance became a priority. Funds have been depleted. As a result, we seek your assistance in helping us to erect a new church building and renovate the unfinished building to facilitate CEAP. We’ll be hosting a Mission Walk on August 20, 2022 to culminate our fundraising initiative. We welcome your support, donation and contributions. Thank you.
