Story
My name is Ricardo Jones, creator of *Di Food Vault Wet Seasoning* from originally from Portland ( the heart of jerk) now living in clarendon
Every Jamaican knows – the secret is in the seasoning. My wet seasoning is made from my grandmother’s recipe – fresh thyme, scallion, Scotch bonnet, pimento, garlic, ginger – no MSG, no artificial colors. All natural, blended same-day.
People who taste it keep coming back. Shops are asking me to supply them. *But I cannot produce enough from my home kitchen.*
Right now I am blending in small batches with my home blender. I bottle in reused jars. I cannot get into supermarkets because I don’t have:
– Proper commercial blender/grinder
– Sealed bottles & labels
– Bureau of Standards Jamaica (BSJ) approval & Food Handler’s certification
– Small cold storage to keep it fresh
*WHY I NEED FUNDING:*
I am raising *$450,000 JMD (∼$2,800 USD)* to move from kitchen to small factory:
*Breakdown – Every dollar accounted for:*
$150,000 – Commercial heavy-duty blender & sealing machine
$100,000 – 1,000 food-grade bottles, caps & professional waterproof labels
$75,000 – BSJ / Public Health inspection & approval & business compliance
$75,000 – Bulk fresh produce & spices (first 3 months stock)
$50,000 – Small chest freezer & delivery cooler boxes
*This is bigger than seasoning:*
1. Keep Jamaican flavor authentic & affordable
2. Support local farmers – I buy everything from local market
3. Create 2 jobs for young people in my community to help bottle & sell
4. Put a Jamaican-owned product on supermarket shelves
