1. The Honest Introduction (The Turning Point)
My name is Ajax V, and I’m a 38-year-old single male at a crossroads. For over a decade, I worked steadily in the business. I’ve completed my advanced diploma in business administration at a Canadian-accredited institution and my management of business units 1 & 2 at a private institution in my home country.
After the completion of my management of business units 1 & 2 courses and examinations, another educational opportunity arose for me to apply, enroll, and pursue my bachelor’s degree in business administration at another accredited Canadian institution. But a series of unavoidable setbacks—a layoff, a health issue, and other personal challenges—left me starting over with almost nothing. I have a roof over my head and my own space to sleep; however, now I must have my own groceries and my eyeglasses, which are essential for my eye health in the educational and professional environments, respectively. Another important aspect I have to consider is the possibility of learning to drive and getting around while residing in another country and the application fee for the program that will change my career and my life.
2. The Specific Challenges of Being Single & In Your Late 30s/Early 40s
As a 38-year-old single male, the possibility of a partner’s income to fall back on or a second set of hands to split the bills is nonexistent. The ‘safety net’ most people assume exists simply isn’t there for me. I am my only plan. To get back into school and eventually the workforce, I need a stable foundation. Appropriate and relevant school attire is essential for daily progression, productivity, and relaxation. Work-appropriate shoes for interviews and daily reliability. This isn’t about comfort and luxury; it’s about the basic dignity every hardworking adult deserves: A bed to rest and think clearly, clothes to present myself, and a connection to opportunity.
3. The Long-Term Goal: Education as a Way Out
My immediate goal is financial stability, but my real goal is a career. I’ve chosen to apply to and enroll in a bachelor’s degree program in Spanish/French with a minor in either mental health or human resources and labor relations at the University of Lethbridge. This program will prepare me for roles as a travel agent and a human resources manager. However, I must resolve my need for financial stability before I begin my journey. A portion of these funds will go directly toward the application fee, the first tuition deposit to secure my seat for Winter 2027, and the study permit fee. Your help now won’t just buy me groceries; it will buy me a future.
4. The Birthday Hook (The Urgency & Milestone)
I turned 38 on June 13th. For years, I wondered what my late 30s would be like. Now, instead of feeling that way, I can visualize and use it as a launchpad. I am asking you to skip the cards and the drinks. Instead, please donate to this campaign as my birthday gift. My goal is to raise the full $100,000.00 by my birthday (which has passed) so I can start my new year—and my new life—with a bed to sleep in, food in the fridge, and a deposit paid toward a future degree.
5. Detailed, Accountable Budget (See Below)
I have priced everything down to the last dollar, including platform fees. Here is exactly where every donation will go.
6. The Promise & Long-Term Impact
I am asking for a helping hand and not a handout. With your unwavering support, I will have the opportunity to prepare, apply, enroll, and pursue my chosen studies at my chosen university, and while studying, explore, research, apply for, and secure suitable job opportunities that best match my dreams, goals, and passion, instead of worrying about where my next meal will come from. I promise to post photo updates: the first night in my new bed, the meal I cook with my first grocery haul, my acceptance letter, and, eventually, my first day of class. Your investment will ripple outward for years.
7. The Clear, Emotional Ask
For my 38th birthday, I am not celebrating another trip around the sun—I am launching the first day of the rest of my life. This fundraiser is my bid to build a solid, professional foundation through education, and I am asking you to invest in this next chapter.
Please consider donating $10.00, $25.00, $100.00, or any amount that feels right to you. If you are unable to give financially, please help amplify my reach by sharing this campaign within your network. A single share could provide the visibility or exposure I need to turn this dream into reality.
Thank you for your belief in second chapters and for seeing the potential in a new beginning.
