Short Story

Ramon Rhoden has been diagnosed with Thrombocytopenia for almost a month. This is a condition that occurs when the platelet count in your blood is too low. Due to his ailment, he has been suffering from a high fever, diarrhea, back pains and his most recent side effects are rashes on his arms and shoulder. If this condition reaches its severe state, it might cause spontaneous bleeding in the eyes, gums or bladder or cause the person to bleed too much when they are injured. All your efforts to help me by contributing to the great cause of this campaign will be highly appreciated. Thank you!

The Rhoden family is seeking donations on behalf of 22-year old Ramon Rhoden. He is a past student of Kingston College who is currently attending UTECH where he is pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Human Resource Management. Ramon has been diagnosed with Thrombocytopenia for almost a month; a condition that occurs when the platelet count in your blood is too low. As a result, he has been suffering from a high fever, diarrhea, back pains and his most recent side effects are rashes on his arms and shoulder. If this condition reaches its severe state, it might cause spontaneous bleeding in the eyes, gums or bladder or cause the person to bleed too much when they are injured. Ramon is currently admitted at the University Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI) where he is undergoing treatment. However, the cost for his treatment in which he has to receive once every week amounts to approximately 2 million JMD for two dosage of his medication. I personally paid for his first set of treatments but is finding it really challenging to accumulate the needed funds to pay for his follow up treatments; which is due to be administered this Friday, March 17, 2023. Additionally, Ramon might have to spend another 2-weeks in the hospital which will add to the already existing medical bill at the hospital and thereafter, will require weekly home visits from a hired medical doctor to administer his treatment from home until he is in a stable state to receive it otherwise. Therefore, we are kindly appealing to the general public to help us raise the NEEDED funds of 1,710,000, which is the cost for 3 weeks supply of medication that URGENTLY NEEDED for treatment; along with an additional amount for his aftercare medical expenses. ย  All your efforts to help me by contributing to the great cause of this campaign will be highly appreciated. Thank you!
