Hi everyone, I am Junior Reid and I am 27-year-old. My face, ear and neck has been severely burnt due to an incident in which I was burnt and robbed by a woman claiming to be a sex worker.

On July 10th, after leaving an event in New Kingston, I was approached by a woman who asked me if I was “doing business.” I have never bought sex before so I asked, what’s the price and the female replied $2,000. I had $8,000 in my pocket into a bag, so I went into my pocket and take out the bag and attempted to pay her and that’s she grabbed the bag. When she grabbed the bag, I tried to take it back from her, and that’s when I saw her raising her hand and I felt my body started burning like fire.

When the corrosive substance started piercing my skin, I ran in the direction of the New Kingston Police Post. It was there that I was assisted to the Kingston Public Hospital where I was treated for severe burns.

I am badly burnt and right now I am in constant pain and was laid off from my job at a hardware in Kingston due to my situation. My hand, parts of my neck and chest and parts of my ears are burnt. Sometimes it feels as if the upper part of my body is constantly being bitten and this has slowed me down really bad. I am expected to do plastic surgery and skin grafting on my neck soon because I would love to get back my skin to look as normal as possible because I hate seeing myself. 

Right now I am unemployed and this has hampered my level of productivity because I am unable to work in the condition I’m in. I am unable to take care of myself the way I would want to; So if anyone could help me with some groceries/food kind and offer me some financial assistance to do the surgical operation until I can get back on my feet, I would  really appreciate it.
