Story
Has a result of the passing of hurricane Melissa most of the hotels where i would display my handmade crafts was severely damaged, leaving me without constant employment.
For me, making crafts has never been just a job—it’s my passion, my livelihood, and my connection to our rich Jamaican culture. Every piece I craft carries a story of tradition, patience, and island pride. Losing my place of employment meant losing not only my income, but also the spaces where I would display and showcase my handy work to people from all over the world.
I also have my elderly mother who has health problems and recently suffered a stroke that depends on me to care for her.
with your support this would help me to afford to get essential tools and raw supplies needed to make more of my craft products and offset expenses until thses hotels or reopen. Every donation, no matter the size, brings me one step closer to picking up my tools again, restoring my livelihood, and continuing to share authentic Jamaican craftsmanship with the world.
in advance THANKS for standing with me and helping me to keep this dieing art from alive, in my country that was badly affected not just by the resent hurricane but also constantly face threats from mass produce imported items branded as Jamaican. One Love and Jah bless.
