My name is Shandale Ballentine, a grieving mother whose life changed forever on April 3, 2026.
On that day, I gave birth to my son, Ramontay Rakai Ranger, at Cornwall Regional Hospital. What should have been the happiest moment of my life quickly turned into a nightmare.
My labor began at 6:00 PM, but my baby was not delivered until 8:34 PM. During delivery, my son was tragically stuck in the birth canal for over an hour, with the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck twice.
When he was finally born, he was immediately rushed away. I didn’t get the chance to hold him, to comfort him, or even to properly see him.
Three hours later, I was allowed to see my baby. He was breathing on his own but needed assistance from an oxygen tank. I held onto hope. I believed he would be okay.
He was then taken to the nursery…
That was the last time I saw my son alive.
At 4:00 AM, I was suddenly awakened with devastating news—
My baby had passed away sometime after 1:00 AM.
Why We Need Your Help
No mother should ever have to experience this pain. I am left with unanswered questions, emotional trauma, and the burden of laying my baby to rest.
I am asking for your support to help with:
Funeral and burial expenses
Emotional and medical recovery support
Legal assistance to understand what went wrong and seek justice
Raising awareness to prevent this from happening to another family
A Mother’s Plea
My son Ramontay deserved a chance at life. He deserved to come home with me.
Please help me honor his memory, find closure, and seek the truth.
