Our dear colleague and friend, Arlene Clarke, has been a loyal member of the S.M. Jaleel & Company family for decades. She has dedicated years of hard work to the market of Jamaica, driving the business through her dedication and kindness to the team.

Now, Arlene needs our help.

Her home in Black River, Jamaica, was directly in the path of Hurricane Melissa, which caused devastating damage across the region. The storm ripped the roof off her home, leaving her and her family exposed to the elements. Arlene is now facing the heartbreaking task of salvaging what little remains and protecting her belongings from further damage.

But her challenges go beyond rebuilding her home. Arlene suffered the heartbreaking loss of her husband following the passage of the hurricane and still has the responsibility of caring for her elderly father — who depends on her daily.

Despite these hardships, Arlene remains strong — a true reflection of the spirit we’ve all come to admire in her.

We, her teammates at S.M. Jaleel & Company, are coming together to support Arlene in rebuilding her life. Every contribution, big or small, will make a real difference — helping her secure shelter, repair her home, and ensure her family’s safety and well-being.
